EXPLORING WATERCOLOR
Course Details:
OBJECTIVES:
1. Practice using a paintbrush properly.
2. Learn about the qualities of watercolor through instruction and exploration.
3. Have fun experimenting with various basic watercolor techniques.
SESSION 1: Watercolor Shapes (Nov 6 1:00pm)
In this class, students will be introduced to watercolor and practice basic techniques on various shapes
Materials (to be prepared by student):
Watercolor paper / Watercolor pad, Watercolor set, Paintbrushes (Round, Size 2 and 5 or anything close), Black fine marker or Drawing pen
SESSION 2: Watercolor Resist (Nov 13 1:00pm)
In this class, students will explore watercolor resist method and create a colorful pattern
Materials (to be prepared by student):
Watercolor paper / Watercolor pad, Watercolor set, Paintbrushes (Round, Size 2 and 5 or anything close), White crayola or oil pastel
SESSION 3: Watercolor Salt (Nov 20 1:00pm)
In this class, students will make use of salt to create a watercolor effect on a sky / space artwork
Materials (to be prepared by student):
Watercolor paper / Watercolor pad, Watercolor set, Paintbrushes (Round, Size 2 and 5 or anything close), Cup of salt
SESSION 4: Watercolor Scene (Nov 27 1:00pm)
In this class, students will combine all techniques learned so far to create a colorful and multi-texture scenery painting

Watercolor paper / Watercolor pad, Watercolor set, Paintbrushes (Round, Size 2 and 5 or anything close), White crayola or oil pastel, Cup of salt, Black fine marker or Drawing pen
