Game Making with Blocks (Scratch)

In this course, kids will be introduced to the world of computer programming, They will learn how to make their own games and stories through animation. The app to be used is called Scratch, which is the perfect tool for your kids to use their imagination and create their own projects. Instructors will guide the children step by step by giving them the coding knowledge to design their characters, how to make them move and influence actions. At the end of this course, they will accomplish their own project: Raining Objects Game.

Course Details:

Week one

o Introduction to Scratch and Programming: brief overview of the platform and what is computer programming.

o Negative numbers, units, the coordinate system: moving character in Scratch

o Repeat and Forever: looping code for efficiency

o Events: exploring different options to move characters and influence actions

o Conditionals: if-then relationship coding

o Major Project: Raining Objects game
